The feature showcases a stunning kitchen island created for a Silver Spring homeowner — and we couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out.

Our Kitchen Island Design

When homeowners Laila and David Soltz set out to add an island to their kitchen, they envisioned a space that was not only beautiful, but incredibly functional. Laila wanted an island that could serve as the “workhorse” of the kitchen — offering generous storage, ample prep space, and room to entertain guests.

To bring their vision to life, the Soltzes turned to Stephanie Fried, one of our talented designers at Jack Rosen Custom Kitchens. Stephanie crafted an island that checks all the boxes:

• Plenty of storage on all sides
• A clean surface, free of appliances and clutter
• An L-shaped design that strikes the perfect balance between space and flow
• A rich, dark finish that beautifully contrasts with the kitchen’s white Elmwood cabinetry and light subway tile

The design also thoughtfully complements other elements of the home, such as the custom armoire built to house the refrigerator and freezer. The result? A kitchen island with a “beautiful presence,” as Laila puts it — one that fits perfectly into the family’s kosher lifestyle while offering a comfortable, stylish space for cooking and gathering.

Rutt is introducing a new cabinet line called “Ruskin,” and the cabinets in this collection are unique and rich-looking, able to complement both modern and traditional spaces. Jack Rosen Custom Kitchens will soon have a Ruskin cabinet display in our showroom!

Jack Rosen Custom Kitchens Named “Outstanding New Dealer” by Rutt

Jack Rosen Custom Kitchens was recognized as an “Outstanding New Dealer” by Rutt Handcrafted Cabinetry a couple months ago. We became a dealer of Rutt cabinetry in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area in December 2011, but the honor of being an “Outstanding New Dealer” was announced at Rutt’s national dealer meeting in October.
